Over the past six years, Marc Leiber has planted more than 160,000 trees at Quinta das Abelhas, a syntropic agroforestry project in southern Portugal.
“What began as an experiment to adapt syntropic agroforestry systems to the Mediterranean climate has gradually evolved into a living laboratory dedicated to the relationship between agriculture and living systems.
In this film, I document the journey from the beginning to the present day.
Currently, the farm has 10 experimental agroforestry plots that integrate forest species, fruit trees, vegetables, grains, cover crops, and native Mediterranean biodiversity into a single interconnected system.
This video is the story of how it all came to be.”
