Itzhak “Ben” Bentov was an Israeli-American scientist, inventor, mystic, and author born in Czechoslovakia. His numerous inventions, including the steerable cardiac catheter, helped propel the biomedical engineering industry forward. He was also one of the early proponents of what came to be known as consciousness studies and authored several books on the subject.
