Red Light Therapy
Category: Health/Wellness
Red Light Therapy, also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Photobiomodulation, is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light (660nm and 850nm) to stimulate cell function and promote healing.
This therapy has gained attention for its potential to address various health-related areas, especially cellular respiration, metabolism and anti-aging.
How does it work?
Red Light Therapy (RLT) works by repeatedly exposing the skin to low levels of red and infrared light for a certain period of time.
This exposure to red light produces a positive biochemical effect on cells, strengthening the mitochondria, where cellular energy is created. By increasing mitochondrial function, TLV also increases electron transport, oxygen consumption and ATP levels, allowing cells to function more efficiently, rejuvenate and repair themselves.
Benefits of Red Light Therapy:
- Reduction of Inflammation and Pain
- Strengthening the Immune System
- Detoxification and Stress Reduction
- Improved Skin Health
- Enhanced Cell Regeneration

Sessions and Frequency
Continuous sessions over a period of 8 to 12 are recommended to achieve satisfactory results.

To prevent chronic symptoms, one or two weekly maintenance sessions may be recommended.
To optimise athletic performance, doing a red light session before and after exercise can be beneficial.
